Be in my Shoes

Time and words, dreams and hopes, bags under my eyes and nervousness..... six months and nothing.

The clock of my working life  stopped six months ago. I don’t know why, because It had a battery. I cared it as a treasure and I never realized that the countdown had started.

As the music band “Opus” said in their mytic song, “Life is Life”. Life is a journey and I must be ready for the next stop.

I don’t know where the road leads me. Most times I drive myself, but sometimes I connect  the autopilot. The trip is being very long and by the moment, I have enough gas. How many kilometres more? How many hours behind the steering wheel? This is the problem.

In my journey, I’m meeting with many “drivers”, some of them are “sunday drivers” and others are “fellow travellers”. One day is shorter than a week, thus some are “contacts” and others are “friends” but the trip is hard, so both are necessaries.

Many different ways to get our destiny. Straight way is the best, the fastest and the most difficult way, cause you do not always have this possibility. Round way is when you know the way perfectly and you don’t mind to go or come back. Circle way is wasted time and fuel. You can also feel sick and lose the north. Wander way is the worst, the slowest and the easiest way to spend your time when your clock is broken. Try to avoid it and set always a finish.

And what about the skills?  This is the important question. I’m a good driver, I have license to drive, I always carry tools, maps and torch in my car. When I’m lost I don’t doubt and ask to get back to the correct track. I respect the regulation and the authority but I don’t tolerate the abuse of authority, specially when they are illogical. I’m ready for the contingency and I’m used to solve problems on the road.

Tic-tac, kilometres, fuel, traffic signals, car number plates known and my broken clock is still inside the glove compartment, hoping to return to work.

  1. I think that you are nervous because the day of your return approaches and you will face again the real life. Don´t worry my friend. How you say, life is life and I´m sure the destination will provide you the better things.
